What lab services does MedExpress Urgent Care in Katy offer?

We have on-sight laboratory tests such as blood tests, urinalyses, strep, mono, etc.

Can I get routine blood tests done here?

We do have standard blood tests such as CBC, CMP and glucose levels.

Do you perform lab work during urgent care visits?

Technology Yes, it is possible to have lab tests ordered and performed at a visit.

Is a doctor’s referral required for lab tests?

No, our providers do onsite examination and prescribe the right tests straight to you.

Are results shared with my primary care doctor?

Yes, the results can be sent either through a fax or by electronics to your assigned physician.

Do you offer urinalysis and pregnancy tests?

Yes, the two services will be offered during your visit to carry out diagnostic services.

Is testing for strep throat and influenza offered?

Yes, there are quick diagnostic tests on strep and flu.

Do you perform testing for common infections?

Yes, we do test the urinary tract infections, sinus infections, etc.

How soon are results available?

There are rapid tests which are offered in the visit. Other laboratory testing will turn back in 24 to 72 hours.

Do you accept insurance for lab services?

Yes, majority of the major insurance plans are accepted. There are also self-pay provisions.
