What is Hemorrhoids?
Hemorrhoids are inflamed and swollen veins in the end of the rectum and at the anorectum. The latter take place as a result of the swelling up of these veins where the pressure in these veins is excessively high. Internal (in the rectum) and external (under the skin of the region surrounding the anus) protruding hemorrhoids may occur, and may range between painful lumps and intense discomfort.
Common Symptoms
The hemorrhoids symptoms are dissimilar and might include:
- Bloody diarrhea of grotesque feces on a toilet paper or the bowl
- cholera or irritation of the anal region
- Pains or discomfort especially on a sitting position
- An anus swelling or bump, painful or not, or ability on the anus or in the anus
- The secretion of the mucus due to the bowel movement
Causes
The narrowing of the veins in your pelvic and rectal areas that may lead to hemorrhoids may increase pressure because of the following factors:
- Intestinal obstruction
- On a chronic basis, constipation or diarrhea
- In pregnancy and the strain that the baby has on the pelvic veins
- Spending more time sitting particularly on the toilet
- Heavy lifting on a frequent basis
