Dr. Mazen Noureddin is an example of a hepatologist who specialises in liver diseases. His residencies are at internal medicine with University of Southern California and a hepatology fellowship with National Institute of Health where he earned a Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Research. Dr. Noureddin was also a fellow in gastroenterology at the University of California, San Diego. USC employed him in 2013 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. This was later followed in 2015 as he developed a fatty liver program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
