Intro of GEHA
GEHA (Government Employees Health Association) is a provider of medical and dental plans that are not-profit organizations that putting medical and dental plans to employees of the federal government, retires, and their family members. GEHA is one of the largest providers of benefits to the U.S. federal workers who are committed to providing value through an all-inclusive healthcare package as well as attentive services to its members.
GEHA has an amazing mission to provide the power of employees working in the federal to enjoy effective healthier living by focusing on preventive services, telehealth, health wellness incentives, and affordability across all its plan types. The organization is still retaining its tradition of service and dedication to the federal workforce.
Our History
GEHA was originally established in 1937 as a level-grassroots linkage effort of railway postal clerks who wanted better healthcare coverage. As time went by, it increased its membership to over 2 million members in the country.
Our Milestones
• 1937: Founded by postal workers.
• 1950s-1999: joined the ranks as one of the biggest Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) plan providers.
• Extended to benefit not only civilian but also retired military individuals.
• Still continues to enforce preventive care and wellness services to the federal families nationwide.
